Volumetric weight
The Volumetric weight feature allows you to add multiple items in one shipment and get consolidated weight and cost of the shipment automatically. Also, volumetric weight will be calculated automatically using the formula configured on the settings section. By default system configured to use greater weight between actual weight and volumetric weight.
The system can be used to calculate shipping costs for a product with different weights. For example if a product weighs 1 kilogram and is shipped in 2 packages then it will cost $1 per package (1 kg multiplied by $0.50 per package). If another product weighs 1 kilogram and is shipped in 3 packages then it will cost $1 per package (2 x 1kg multiplied by $0.50 per package).
